Weekend Camping Site
Occupy Las Cruces will hold this weekend’s campsite at Pioneer Women’s Park 500 W. Las Cruces, Saturday 6/16 from 8:30 am through Sunday morning.
Table at the Park
OLC will hold a table at Pioneer Women’s Park during the Annual “Pride in the Park Festival” on Saturday 6/16 from 10 am to 3 pm. We will distribute flyers, sign people up to our email list, and share information about our core focus areas and how we intend to implement them. See poster here.
Music in the Park
There will be live music , food and refreshments at 6 pm.

Movie at the Park
This weekend OLC will be showing a film at 8 pm on Saturday at Pioneer Women’s Park titled The People Speak, a documentary based on Howard Zinn’s groundbreaking books – A People’s History of the United States and Voices of a People’s History of the United States, featuring music by Eddie Vedder and performances by Viggo Mortensen, Sandra Oh, Sean Penn, Rosario Dawson, don Cheadle, John Legend, and many other great performers.
The People Speak, shows the rich history of dissent in our history, and explores why it is so relevant and urgent today.

Move To Amend Barnstorming Tour

OLC will attend a Move to Amend Barnstorming tour with David Cobb in El Paso Texas on Monday, June 11, from 7-9 pm at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) 500 W. University Ave.
David Cobb a fiery speaker, and former Green Party presidential candidate is touring and giving his talk “Creating Democracy & Challenging Corporate Rule.” This presentation is part history lesson and part heart-felt call-to-action!
Cobb is an organizer and national spokesman for MoveToAmend.org, a coalition of over 199,000 people and organizations whose goal is to amend the United States Constitution to end corporate rule and legalize democracy.
This event is free and open to the public. Donations are appreciated.
